südback: AICHINGER presents the right ingredients for the success of bakeries in rapidly changing markets.

At südback 2019, shop fitting specialist AICHINGER will be demonstrating how handcraft bakers can successfully position themselves in times of discount prices and online shopping. AICHINGER's interior designers, together with the lighting specialists from we-shoplight, have created a stand concept that is particularly inviting, near to nature and transparent. The central themes are thus fitted into the perfect setting:

  • Baking craft – emotionally staged and LIVE for all the senses.
  • Creative bakery snacks for sale from dawn until dusk. To serve or for self-service.
  • AICADEMY: Bakery snack and gastronomy advice from real professionals. From the average store up to the large freestander.  
  • Esspress It by the Coffeeshop Company – innovative lifestyle concept for coffee and more.
  • Individual shop and light design – for sales promoting product lighting and a feel-good atmosphere.

The very foundation of the AICHINGER südback presentation is the authentic staging of handcrafted baked goods. "There are enough people who, despite discount prices, consciously spend a little more on baked goods and bakery snacks if they can recognise the difference and taste it," says Dr. Oliver Blank, Managing Director of AICHINGER. "The baker of tomorrow must literally pick up the customers, with fast to-go offers as well as customised feel-good rooms to enjoy this on site. And with the characteristic qualities which distinguish a good, genuine and true baker of confidence: Honest ingredients, unique recipes and freshness that can be experienced".

The centre stage of 156 square metre Aichinger stand is therefore the presentation of the handcrafted bakery products.  To ensure that the top products catch the customer's eye, special attention getters are integrated into the counter presentation as "sales boosters": MaxxPoint and AirMaxx. They keep fresh goods well chilled and are also particularly ergonomic for sales staff. The shopfitting experts will also be showing the new self-service refrigeration units from the TopSpot series, which can be attractively integrated into the store design - the baker's answer to the increasing customer demand for convenience and speed, and easy to combine with classic service sales. The matching digital price labelling systems from Shop IQ, combined with electronic and digital payment systems, will also be on display.

A special AICHINGER highlight: the snack specialists at "AICADEMY" will prepare innovative bakery snacks for the baked goods produced live – and for any time of day. The AICADEMY consultants will be demonstrating how bakers can create innovative snacks that are "reliable in calculation and success" at the same time. "For it to really work in everyday practice, the processes must be right, the equipment must be as flexible as possible and baker-affine ingredients must be used," says Klaus Wydra, head of AICADEMY. Directly next to the Aichinger main stand,  the AICADEMY experts will demonstrate live in a compact sales kiosk, that this not only works at high-frequency and large free stander locations, but is also possible in small areas.

The vegan chef, Estalla Schweizer will also be watching alongside the AICADEMY consultants. Cooking, baking and healthy eating have long been her passion and calling. Together with the AICADEMY, she will prepare fresh and seasonal dishes on the Sunday and Monday of the fair, which not only tickle the palate but also pay tribute to health.

The newly developed Espress It by Coffeeshop Company module shows that baked goods sales, bakery snacks and coffee specialities complement each other perfectly - a meeting place for trendy coffee and tea delights in premium quality in a casual lounge atmosphere. New managing director of AICHINGER Schwitzerland

AICHINGER Schweiz GmbH has restructured its corporate management in order to continue to develop consistently and on a long-term basis with new strategic approaches.

The interior architect FH Jürg Bräm has taken over the role of the new managing director at the Winterthur location. 

"We are very pleased that with Mr. Bräm we have gained an experienced expert in shop fitting and a great leader for this challenging position", says AICHINGER Managing Director, Dr. Oliver Blank.

"To assume a large part of the responsibility and to further expand the product business as well as the project business is a new assignment to which I gladly devote myself" - says Jürg Bräm. Together with the Swiss AICHINGER team, Jürg Bräm will further develop AICHINGER Schweiz GmbH as a future-proof and efficient location in the AICHINGER world.


New director of Interior Architecture & Design

Shop fitting of the future is the result of consistent and targeted further development, increased added value and unique experiences of space.

Shop fitting design is a form of art in which the customer is happy to shop and linger. Sustainable (interior) architecture can significantly improve working and living conditions. Whether it is an extension, reconstruction, conversion or a new building, customers and their needs are the focal point for every consideration. 

The new Head of Interior Architecture & Design at AICHINGER, Ulla Basqué, sees herself as a source of ideas and has taken over the direction of one of the largest architectural teams in the shop fitting industry. In this way, highly individual complete solutions for contract furnishings will continue to be created from a single source in the future. Taking on new perspectives and utilising all available potentials for change are at the center of Ulla Basqué’s considerations. 

With her many years of experience in the field of interior design and her prestigious awards such as the Interior Designer of the Year Award 2016, AICHINGER sees Basqué as the right person for the further development of architecture. Thanks to her contacts and synergies with a wide variety of partners, close cooperation with scientific institutions and associations, more can be achieved for customers.

Under the motto „FIT FOR FUTURE“, AICHINGER will present innovative ideas for successful bakeries of the future at the iba 2018.

ROG wins coveted industry award in the category "Production Technology".

Since 2006, Huber Verlag für Neue Medien has once a year honored particularly advanced industrial products and solutions with the Industry Award.

Awards are given to the most advanced industrial products and solutions in 14 different categories - from drive and fluid technology, research & development via microsystems technology to suppliers. AICHINGER made it in 2018 - The submitted solution "ROG - ROLL`N`GRILL®" was awarded BEST OF at the INDUSTRIEPREIS 2018 in the category "Production Technology". The terms "production technology" refer to processes, measures and equipment for the production of goods as well as the development and construction of machines.

EDEKA Kels - Store of the Year 2018

We congratulate our customer EDEKA Kels on their title of „Store of the Year 2018“!

EDEKA Kels was awarded the title of „Store of the Year 2018“, by the German Trade Association (HDE) at the end of January 2018. The prize was awarded during the trade real estate congress in Berlin, which took place at the end of January. After the wonderful implementation of the Markthalle Krefeld (real,-)project, our team from the AICHINER planning office in Haan again succeeded in setting a further highlight into the food retail sector. The market, which had once been the premises of an old machine factory, impressed the jury above all with its accomplished product presentation.  

After the REWE premium market in Munich (Fünf Höfe), which was awarded this title in 2017, EDEKA Kels is now the second AICHINGER customer to be awarded the title of „Store of the Year“, within the last 2 years. We congratulate our customer EDEKA Kels and everyone involved in this amazing project. 


AICHINGER at the Internorga 2018 in Hamburg

A generous helping of inspiration, richly seasoned in atmosphere, a multitude of concept ideas and a pinch of networking.

This year‘s Internorga exhibition concept by AICHINGER is aimed at the group of new generation of operating companies providing gastronomic concepts, as well as bakers and butchers. The young talent from the „wild youth“, work very differently today and make handwork re-experienced and unique. Quality instead of quantity, class instead of mass! The young entrepreneur focuses more on their own history, on sophisticated marketing and especially on the origin and quality of their top-class products. With this storytelling around the operator’s portfolio, they create their own brand and skillfully set themselves apart from the competition. 

In their „Concept Factory“  at this year’s Internorga, AICHINGER shows how the stories surrounding this new generation of operators can be experienced through innovative concept ideas. The shop fittings and with them the atmosphere created by AICHINGER reflects the emotions of this new generation in the sleek design style. The minimalistic and clear design concept deliberately sets the products on display into the spotlight through the overall dark contrast. The design language of AICHINGER Concept Factory in concrete, solid black steel and Nero Assoluto expertly captures the warm cherry wood as a chosen extreme and could usher in a new trend in shop fitting – it definitely does not always have to be oak! 

In the presentation area for goods, top-class, glass showcases and backlit counter fronts with 3D effects underline the product’s staging. And visible from a distance, a display cabinet for dry aged beef highlights this trend in the butchery section.  Opposite, a 4 meter high wall, tiled in Nero Assoluto with an open rigato rock surface directs the guest’s attention to the display of delicate cakes and the impressive coffee bar at the center of the stand. In a minimum of space, a maximum live cooking experience with integrated outgoing air – this trend is served by the AICHINGER innovation ROG - ROLL´N´GRILL using clever, modern snack concepts which are presented to the public via live demonstrations. Aichinger mourns Dr. Hans-Georg Rummler

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our President and CEO, Dr. Ing. Hans-Georg Rummler.

He died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 61 during the night of the 5th to the 6th of January. He leaves behind his wife and two sons.

Dr. Hans-Georg Rummler joined Aichinger in July 2014 as Chairman of the Management Board and previously worked in responsible executive positions in various, larger companies. The sudden death of Dr. Hans-Georg Rummler has deeply shocked the management and all employees at Aichinger. His passing leaves behind a large hole in our company.

"We are shocked and very saddened by the sudden death of Dr. Rummler. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and his relatives," says Günther Hertel, owner of Aichinger.
