The Sultan Center Signature Store

The historic old city of Beirut is a UNESCO World Heritage site and has been carefully restored in recent years. Under the leadership of the Spanish architect Rafael Moneo, the old market district with the market square in Beirut?s city center Solidere has found its way back to its former beauty and greatness. Here, in the best location of the new shopping center "Beirut Souk" customers can find everything that the gourmet's heart might desire in 3500 m² of space.

Particular emphasis was placed on the question of how consumption and shopping could best be combined. Together with the experts from The Sultan Center, Aichinger and Wanzl Shopfitting, under the conceptional leadership of the Dutch planning office Jos de Vries, worked for over a year on the layout, the shop design, the sales promotion measures and the graphic concept.

The basic principle behind it all: The combination of local materials in conjunction with the appearance and effect of modern design - without losing sight of the commercial interests. Thus a unique shopping and gourmet temple came into existence.

More than ten different food areas such as a sushi bar, a grill, a sweets or fresh fruit department offer the customer a wide variety of selected specialties - all of the highest quality. And it is left up to the customers to decide whether they want to take the products home with them or consume them directly on site. More than ten cooks work in the store alone and prepare the food directly before the customers' eyes. The 1000 m² large professional kitchen on the lower floor ensures that everything in the background runs smoothly.

Along with the service and consumption areas, in the store the customer will find a first-class supermarket as well as a cosmetic salon including nail studio.

The Sultan Center Signature Store is in every respect a "Supermarket of the Future": In the remnants of the old core of the city a forward-looking concept has emerged that combines culinary delights, unique design, the highest quality and innovative technology.
