A hype on the basement
CityPoint is a shopping centre in the heart of the city of Nuremberg. On altogether five floors you will find about 60 different shops. When the branch mix was redistributed in 2008 by the centre manager the existing butchery branch Walk had to move from the ground floor to the basement - a clearly less attractive location and therefore a specific challenge for AICHINGER's shop fitting experts.
Now you find there a combined outlet with bakery Bock on a surface space of 309 sqm. There was the concern that the less attractive location will lead to a reduced sales turnover - however what happened was the contrary: the number and frequency of customers even exceeded the results obtained at the previous location. Regular and casual customers love to take the longer way to the basement to procure the meat and cold cuts specialities of butchery Walk - its products already eight times awarded with the national prize for premium quality.
Also the snack counter taking approximately 50% of the total counter space stands for a big turnover. Clearly visible from the moving stairs the customers can directly experience cooking, substantiating and preparation of the food strictly according to Walk's motto "responsibility, tradition and consequent quality commitment".
Thanks to a Convotherm combi steamer and a SnackMaxx the respective menus of the day can be prepared fast and gently. The air flow and filter system of the Varithek grill you do not need an exhaust hood and avoid annoying odours resulting from cooking fumes. The customers are satisfied: The response to the new shop is continuing positive. "The location meant to us special challenges with regard to technical details - however these were completed by AICHINGER to our fullest satisfaction", Josef Walk reports about the cooperation with the AICHINGER representative Andreas Martius.
The overall shop concept was done by AICHINGER and approved by the ECE centre management. AICHINGER was in charge of the complete management of the construction site and coordination of all crafts involved, supervising the correct execution as well as monitoring the tight time schedule. we-shoplight's experts cared for the appropriate lighting concept. With this project the owner Josef Walk who operates the business in the second generation already is successfully continuing the cooperation with AICHINGER.
