Occupation as vocation
Among the Bücker family at Spetsmann Confectionery, one notices immediately that for them the term "confectioner" refers not only to an occupation but to a vocation. "Love of the profession is decisive for the success of any family enterprise," says senior director Josef Bücker. Loving care down to the smallest detail is therefore also apparent in the new shop with which the next generation has laid the foundation for continued success in the future.
A little bit of luxury
Materials of high quality and the appropriate architectural concept bring a little bit of luxury into the everyday life of the guests: an opulent presentation of chocolates extending over three meters and a presentation of fancy cakes along four meters greet the guest right at the entrance. The offering is complemented by numerous self-serve placements in the curved presentation module "Swing It." A new part of the concept is the ice cream counter which, thanks to a special cooling system, can be converted into an additional cake cooler if required. A bistro island was integrated across from the entrance. In contrast to the luxurious treats on offer in the confectionery area, in the bistro area the Bückers have emphasized light cuisine with lots of fresh vegetables. And thanks to the continual introduction of different products the shop is full of life all day long: breakfast, brunch, special dishes of the day, and of course the delicious coffee and cake specialties.
Optimized workflow
With the new conceptual orientation the workflow was optimized and the walking paths of staff and customers were separated. "In so doing, a significantly more ergonomic way of working was made possible. That saves us time and ultimately a lot of money," Bernd Bücker is convinced. Because: "With 362 opening days a year that amounts to a lot of kilometers to be walked."
Enormous expansion
Altogether the size of the shop was increased by 90 m2 to approximately 320 m2 and now has over 135 seats in three interconnected rooms that are atmospherically different in design. Stylish wallpaper, luxurious fabrics and tasteful furniture determine the unique ambience in the seating areas. Here at the latest it becomes clear that the desire for the fine things in life and the love of the occupation are present in every detail.
