A real oasis of well-being - not only in winter
For many years Winnie and Per Möller Klausen had been putting their heart and soul into the operation of their small bakery in Billund (Denmark). In 2011 the two decided to invest in a new production facility including a store and café. They had already been in touch with Aichinger for years; they knew each other from various trade fairs and so it wasn?t difficult for the married entrepreneurial couple to entrust AICHINGER architect Silke Schmitt with the reconstruction of their shop.
What is particularly noteworthy about the sales concept: in addition to the handmade bread and baked goods that Per Klausen produces in the attached bakery the product range also includes high quality delicatessen items such as wine and cheese. In the back part of the store there is a cosy seating area that invites the customer to enjoy the changing selection of snacks and warm dishes on site. In this way the "Billund Bageri" has become a popular meeting place for people young and old in the small community.
The cordial warmth that radiates from the married entrepreneurial couple is also much in evidence in the furnishings: the Billund Bageri is a real oasis of well-being. "In our region in winter it stays dark so long - people need a place that warms them up," according to Winnie Möller Klausen.
With a great deal of love the interior decoration has been harmonized down to the smallest detail. Warm shades of wood and stone, golden lighting fixtures and the diverse presentation elements give the shop a unique flair. "In this regard the strut-free ARTline counters provide a modern contrast without interfering with the overall appearance of skilled handiwork," according to Silke Schmitt. Behind the counter the Klausens' expertise in baking bread is apparent in the PANEVARI® bread shelf - thanks to the various angles of inclination and the vertical arrangement a high degree of presentation pressure can be realized even with low supplies. Optimum functional planning ensures efficient workflows without long walking distances. The right lighting was provided by the lighting experts from we-shoplight.
Not only was the technical and creative know-how from Aichinger convincing - the trusting collaboration with Silke Schmitt was a real added value for the entrepreneurial married couple.
